Greek cyclist Haroun Molla<\/strong> will line up at the Gran Fondo Delta<\/strong> in Komotini, his hometown, for the international cycling event scheduled on Sunday, 3 May<\/strong>. The race will feature 138 km and 75 km routes<\/strong>, alongside parallel events, and is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Cycling Federation (HCF)<\/strong> and included in the UCI calendar<\/strong>.<\/p>

Born and raised in Komotini, Molla has built a strong connection with both the city and the sport. \u201cI\u2019m happy that this event is taking place in my city. Komotini is a city that loves cycling and continues to support its development,\u201d he said.<\/p>

Born in 1991<\/strong>, Molla began his sporting career in swimming before switching to cycling at the age of 14. He has since developed into one of Greece\u2019s leading mountain bike athletes, with multiple podium finishes at national and international level. The diverse terrain of the Rhodope region played a key role in shaping his competitive pathway.<\/p>

Molla made his national championship debut at a young age and entered international competition in 2009<\/strong>. In 2013<\/strong>, he signed his first professional contract, winning silver at the Greek MTB National Championship<\/strong> and securing the Greek Team Relay national title<\/strong>. He also competed with the Greek National Team in Olympic qualification events for Rio 2016<\/strong> and Tokyo 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>

He continues to compete at elite level in Greece and abroad, combining his racing career with coaching young cyclists. He is also a graduate of the School of Physical Education and Sports Science (TEFAA)<\/strong>.<\/p>

On 3 May<\/strong>, Molla will compete in the 138 km Gran Fondo Delta race<\/strong>. In 2024, he finished third overall<\/strong> at Gran Fondo Delta in Alexandroupoli, using the race as part of his preparation program.<\/p>
